SAN FRANCISCO (October 19, 2020) — The Dui Hua Foundation (Dui Hua) has learned with great sadness that Takna Jigme Sangpo, a Tibetan schoolteacher who spent nearly four decades in prison for counterrevolutionary crimes, has passed away outside Zurich, Switzerland, on October 17, 2020, at the age of 91.
Dui Hua assisted in the negotiations which resulted in the release of Takna Jigme Sangpo in 2002. “It was our honor to have done so,” said John Kamm, Executive Director of Dui Hua.
