In May 2023, the United Nation’s Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) reviewed China’s record on women’s rights. On May 8, Dui Hua made an oral submission to CEDAW during its informal meeting for NGOs, drawing attention to the discriminatory use of Article 300, “organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law.”

In April 2023, Dui Hua hosted “Topics in Juvenile Justice Reform: A Sino-American Exchange,” an online exchange between Chinese and US experts on juvenile justice. The webinar marked the ninth exchange between US experts and China’s Supreme People’s Court as facilitated by the Dui Hua Foundation. During the event, three panelists from the United States and three panelists from the Supreme People’s Court of China presented on issues related to juvenile justice reform.

On February 22, John Kamm kicked off University of New Haven ‘s Brehm Boucher Speaker Series on “Making a Difference in a World of Change” with his lecture titled “US-China Relations, 1972-2023: Witness to History.” Kamm engaged students from a swathe of majors and disciplines for over an hour discussing human rights, US-China relations, social justice, and how young people can make meaningful changes in today’s geopolitical climate.
