Before launching Reference Materials in October 2012, Dui Hua published research findings in print publications distributed to select individuals working in governmental and non-governmental organizations that monitor China’s human rights situation. Reference Materials on China’s Criminal Justice System and Occasional Publications compiled Chinese source documents and English translations. More information on each of these series is provided below.

These formerly limited distribution series are now available for purchase in print and CD-ROM. All 39 volumes of the two sets can be obtained for a discounted price of US $1,000. Individual volumes may be purchased for US $50 each. For more product and purchasing information, check out the following topics and samples or send us an inquiry.

Reference Materials on China’s Criminal Justice System was distributed from 2009 through September 2012. The 12-volume series compiled prisoner cases, statistics, regulations, and commentaries uncovered by Dui Hua researchers in open-source publications and documents issued or approved by Chinese government bodies.

Occasional Publications is the 27-volume series that came before the RM. Published from 1999 to 2008, the OP series featured little-known criminal justice statistics and raised the cases of more than 1,000 detainees—many of whom were previously unheard of outside China. Information compiled was gleaned from official Chinese-language sources including newspapers, yearbooks, court documents, and Chinese government responses to prisoner lists submitted by dialogue partners.
