A student of Chinese language while at the University of Michigan, McCune launched his career in Shanghai where he promoted US exports for the US Department of Commerce. He later co-founded a retail research firm on the China market, and a decade later moved to Tokyo to help launch a consumer research business.
Since returning to the US in 2004, his work has focused on engagements involving marketing strategy, customer experience, and shopper behavior. He currently serves as a Senior Executive Advisor at Gartner.
In addition to serving on Dui Hua’s Board, McCune is a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations.
